St. Joseph of Arimathea: Companions in Grief
Mount Tabor is pleased to offer to parishes the St. Joseph of Arimathea: Companions in Grief program. Over the course of three months, Mount Tabor will train volunteers on the companioning model of grief support. Participants will be trained in providing regular bereavement support in a face to face setting, check-ins with the newly bereaved through phone calls, and assessment for need of additional services. This program enables parishes to significantly increase outreach to the bereaved beyond the funeral.
SafeTALK
SafeTALK is a dynamic half-day training in suicide alertness. Participants not only learn how to recognize when a person is struggling with thoughts of suicide, but how to respond to that struggle and connect that person with resources that can help. SafeTALK is part of the LivingWorks education program. More information is available at https://www.livingworks.net/programs/safetalk/.
Emotional Coaching: The Heart of Parenting
Emotion Coaching: The Heart of Parenting presents a 5-step method that builds emotional intelligence and creates positive, long lasting effects for children. Easy to learn, and used by parents, educators and care-givers, it supports kids through life’s ups and downs in a way that builds confidence and helps them grow socially, emotionally and intellectually.
Researchers have found that even more than IQ, your emotional awareness and ability to handle feelings will determine your success and happiness in all walks of life.
